This rock was gathered just a few miles from home. It's known locally, along with other river rock, as "Brookwood Stone." This one is spectacular! It looks like the red crystalline structure is encased in a layer of clear Quartz. The fractures at upper right were not entirely sealed, so I stabilized the cabochon; it appears stable now. Dimensions: 28mm x 26mm x 7mm. Weight: 45.05 carats. |
